Learn how to handle a spinnaker from scratch.
4-day spinnaker training on a TOD for cruising and regatta sailors.
Focus areas:
- Safe setting and take down
- “Emergency take down”
- Sailing with a spinnaker without much effort
When learned from the ground up, spinnaker sailing loses its difficulty and intimidation!
On many charter yachts and in many regattas with charter yachts, the symmetrical spinnaker is still the sail of choice for reaching downwind.
In our spinnaker course, we offer working groups the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the basic techniques for cruising and regatta sailing, as well as to learn advanced techniques such as windward recovery, regatta jibes, gybe sets, and spinnaker sailing in moderate to strong winds.
In these two spinnaker courses, sailors can learn spinnaker sailing from scratch. On heavy yachts, the spinnaker is still the most efficient sail for reaching downwind. Learned from the ground up, the sail loses its difficulty and its terror!
- Focus for cruising sailors: safe setting and take dwon, “emergency take down,” sailing with a spinnaker without too much effort.
- Focus for regatta sailors: quick setting at the windward mark and late take down at the leeward mark, correct angles for optimal VMG, safe and fast jibes.
